Sharing Feminist Wisdom this evening with Apna Haq

Hi everyone, hope you are having a great start to the week!!

Just  a little reminder that our next women’s group meeting is this evening Tuesday 7th November at 7.15pm-9.00 pm at the Sheffield Quaker Meeting House

Zaklh Ahmed , Chief Executive of Apna Haq, Rotherham

will be speaking about

‘ Marginalised Women and Women’s Rights when Austerity Bites’

Known locally for her work in developing specialist support services for BAME women experiencing domestic and sexual abuse she was awarded the MBE in 2015 for services to the community and her campaigning work to raise awareness of the hidden difficulties for women in minority communities.
Zlakha will describe the impact of the austerity agenda on services and access to justice and consider how the voices of these women are heard and respected. This is especially important in the context of Islamophobia, rising levels of intolerance and the painful aftermath of enquiries into child sexual exploitation in Rotherham.
Active on the national stage and in the feminist movement Zlakha is a Muslim woman who is linked to the global women’s Islamic initiative for Spirituality and Equality (WISE).

All women are welcome.
