Monday 16 May: Women, work and trade unions

On Monday 16 May, SFN’s women’s group will be joined by Josie Paszek, Unison Shop Steward and Corporate Convenor for Sheffield. Josie is a lifelong trade unionist and has been an active representative for over 20 years in both the private and public sector. She represents Unison on many negotiating committees and is chair of the Women’s Self Organised Group. She is at the heart of the struggle for justice for some of the lowest paid workers in the public sector who are facing redundancy and cuts to terms and conditions.

Josie will talk about the disproportionate effect of cuts on women’s lives and women’s involvement in trade unions and politics.

All self identified women welcome.

Quaker Meeting House, 7.15pm to 9.00pm.
